On her day off, Nina opens her phone to find that the music she and her friend had made 10 years ago has gone viral. The sound viscerally pulls her into memories of a friendship undone by miscommunication and diverging paths. Moving between past and present, The Girl I Left Behind reflects on aspirations and forgiveness.
This PDF of my short story manga "The Girl I Left Behind" will mimic the experience of a physical book, by having two pages side by side! When I designed the pages, I felt like the reading experience would be nicer with two pages side by side.

This story was my first full self-published manga, finished in June 2024, with support from the Centre for Stories and Perth Comic Arts Festival (PCAF) as part of the Comic Creator Fellowship. It sold out after an exclusive release at PCAF, so I am very happy to now release it to everyone as a digital version to read!
